It’s 30th Jan ’24 and here I am, talking about 2023. Is that even admissible in any court? I believe not. However, here’s to my well-wishers and dedicated followers. This one’s for you. Thank you for keeping me accountable. It means a lot to me.
2023 was the “Year of Efficiency”. By now, I’ve heard this being said a gazillion times @ Meta and in the press as well. So much so that I’ve made peace with that label. It was a tough year for lot of people for a myriad reasons — layoffs, conflicts, natural disasters, cost of living crisis, et al. For me personally, it was a sobering year, one where I learnt to navigate numerous complex situations and hopefully come out unscathed from them.
ps — I started writing this look-back story with a sense of bitterness and low mood. However, in the process of actively looking back, going through the key moments of the year and capturing the highlights & lowlights, I feel positive and accepting about the year gone by. Moreover I’m optimistic of the year ahead of us 😃. This is definitely one of the under-rated spin-off benefits of carrying out annual retrospectives. It’s not too late [even February for that matter!], go do yours 🫵
